Buy Cooker Hood
Buy Cooker Hood:
When purchasing a hood, there are many things to consider. A cooker hood is not just an air extractor, which is located in the kitchen, but is considered as a piece of furniture. Materials and design plays a big role. Colours and designs must be in harmony with the rest of the kitchen, so that the model must either be discrete or perhaps of sculptural value – depending on how the kitchen is otherwise designed.
The width of a hood is normally between 60 and 120 centimetre. It covers most needs in terms of size of kitchen and hob. The bigger the cooker hood is over hot plates, the more effective is the extraction of fat, air and moisture. A large filter surface at the bottom does not mean just easier cleaning, but also the air speed becomes smaller. It ultimately results in less noise.
The light from the cooker hood should be adjustable and provide a good light on the cooking plates. Lighting in front of the hood / cooker hood gives the best result.
There may be advantage in selecting both hob and cooker hood from the same supplier. This may just open up a wide variety of accessories, because functions can “talk” together. Some models have automated the entire process, such as turning on and off both suction, light and after extraction. In this way, the focus should be geared to make good food. “The Arrangement” would help ensure good indoor air throughout the house during and after cooking.
Do-it-yourself – or not:
Get a professional to install and mount the extractor hood in your home. It gives a good result and there is a guarantee in case of errors or omissions.
Off course you can make the installation if you otherwise have experience with this kind of work.
Remember that the cooker hood should be located so that the distance is between 50 and 70 centimetres from the hotplate. This is only valid for an electric cooker, while the distance should be higher for a gas cooker, since the flames can ignite the fat that the filter has accumulated.
Avoid making too many cracks on the exhaust hose, as this could impair the effectiveness of the cooker hood. Roof duct or hole in the wall (air valve) must be of such size that the used air can be unrestrictedly.
Accessories:
For a cooker hood there is a wide selection of accessories. This can for example be an opportunity to raise and lower the cooker hood via remote control, which can also turn on the exhaust ventilation. A solution where the cooker hood is integrated with the cooker is a possibility. It works the way that the hob is switched on while exhaust ventilation starts.
