Carbon Filter Hoods
Carbon filter for Hoods:
Does the dwelling not allow installation of a vent to open air, it may still be possible to buy a cooker hood. Under these conditions, use models with one or more carbon filters, and the smell and fat will be reduced in the kitchen. A hood solution with a charcoal filter is not quite as effective as if you have the opportunity to pull in free air – but it is far better than nothing.
The solution with re-circulation works by air which is sucked through a combined fat and charcoal filter. Then the air again is sent into the kitchen. In contrast to the hoods where the “used” air is directed out of the house, then reuses the humid air by re-circulation. This means that moisture does not leave the house using the hood, but it requires some form of ventilation. It can be done some time after you have used the hood.
A carbon filter must be replaced periodically, and may not be re-used.
