Grease Filter Hoods

Grease filter for Hoods:

Fat is sucked up in the hood / cooker hood so that fat particles are trapped in grease filters. Grease filters are made of metal, which helps to ensure cooling, exhaust ventilation when in use. In this way it also means that the fat does not be in the tubes and the roof cap.

The filter should be periodically removed and washed. Most filters can either be washed in the dishwasher or by hand by using fat-soluble detergent. The filters are put to soak in a tub for about an hour. You may need to scrub with a soft brush. Finally, rinse the filters with hot water and then put out to dry.

It may be a greasy task to remove the filter. Look in the instruction book before this is done the first time to avoid harm to both the exhaust and filter.

If the filter / filters are located at the bottom, they are easier to get to where they should be cleaned. Compared to “overlying” filters are handling many times easier.
